Customers overview

For organisations that look after several customers, how to compare them on one page and switch Eido to a single customer.

If your organisation manages devices for other organisations, Eido keeps each one apart as a customer. You can compare every customer on one page, then switch the whole of Eido to a single customer with two clicks.

Creating, renaming and deleting customers is done by an administrator. See Customers.

How customers fit together#

  • A customer is a name you give to one organisation you look after.
  • Each connected Intune tenant is linked to one customer, with Link to Customer in the tenant’s settings. A customer can have more than one tenant. See Intune tenants.
  • Every device, user, policy and issue belongs to its tenant, and so to that tenant’s customer.
  • A member of your team either works across customers or is tied to a single one. See Who sees what.

Two ways of working#

ModeThe filter at the top of the sidebar saysWhat you see
Across customersAll CustomersEvery customer’s data together. Lists gain a Customer column and a Customer filter, and the Customers page is in the sidebar.
One customerThe customer’s name, highlightedThat customer only, as if Eido held nothing else.

Eido starts on All Customers every time you sign in or reload the page.

The Customers page#

Click Customers near the top of the sidebar. The page compares every customer you are allowed to see, and refreshes itself every ten minutes.

The tiles#

The table#

There is one row per customer.

ColumnMeaningClicking the cell
CUSTOMERThe customer’s nameNothing. Use the filter in the sidebar to switch to a customer.
DEVICESHow many devices the customer hasOpens Endpoints, filtered to that customer
COMPLIANCE (%)The percentage of the customer’s devices with no compliance issuesOpens Endpoints, showing that customer’s devices whose Compliance status is Medium or High
CONFIG HEALTH (%)The percentage with no configuration issuesThe same, for Config
APP HEALTH (%)The percentage with no app installation issuesThe same, for Apps
PATCH HEALTH (%)The percentage that are up to date and on a supported operating system versionThe same, for Patch

Each percentage is coloured:

ColourPercentage
Green90 or more
Amber80 to 89
RedBelow 80

The i icon at the right of the headings opens the same definitions in a box titled Column Definitions.

Reading the percentages#

The four percentages are not counted in quite the same way, and it shows on customers with a lot of Unknown devices.

  • COMPLIANCE (%) counts a device only if its Compliance status is Healthy. A device whose compliance is Unknown lowers the figure.
  • CONFIG HEALTH (%), APP HEALTH (%) and PATCH HEALTH (%) count every device that is not Medium or High. A device that is Unknown does not lower the figure.

Key concepts explains the statuses themselves.

Switch to one customer#

  1. Click the filter

It is the box under Search Eido at the top of the sidebar, showing All Customers. The menu is replaced by the list of customers.

  2. Click a customer

Eido goes to that customer’s dashboard. The filter now shows the customer’s name and is highlighted.

  3. Work as normal

Every screen, search and report now covers that customer only.

To go back, click the filter and choose All Customers at the top of the list.

What changes while a customer is selected#

AreaWhat happens
Lists and reportsShow that customer’s data only. The Customer column and filter are removed, because every row would say the same thing.
Dashboards and foldersYou see the dashboards and folders that were made while that customer was selected, not the ones made under All Customers. Each customer has its own set, with its own default dashboard.
Global searchFinds that customer’s records only.
SidebarCustomers and Raise a ticket are hidden.
TeamLists the people tied to that customer. A person you add is tied to that customer.
AdminCustomers, Intune Tenants, Integrations, Computed Columns, Eido AI and Odie Assistant are hidden. Switch back to All Customers to manage them.

Because dashboards belong to the customer they were made under, a dashboard built under All Customers is not listed while a customer is selected, and the other way round. Nothing has been lost. Switch back to find it.

Who sees what#

How much of this a person sees depends on how their account is set up under Team.

The person’s accountWhat they see
Customer set to All Customers, with a role that covers all customersEverything described here
Customer set to All Customers, with a role limited to Selected customersThe same screens, with only the selected customers in them
Customer set to one customerThat customer only, always. No filter, no Customers page and no Customer column. To them Eido looks like a single-organisation product.

Tying somebody to one customer is how you give a customer’s own staff access to Eido without showing them anybody else. See Team and Roles.

Questions people ask#

Why has the Customers page gone from the sidebar?#

A customer is selected. Click the filter at the top of the sidebar and choose All Customers.

Why is my dashboard missing after I switched customer?#

Dashboards and folders belong to the customer that was selected when they were made. Switch back to where you built it, whether that was All Customers or another customer.

Why does a customer show 0 % in every column?#

It has no devices yet. Either no tenant is linked to that customer, or the tenant’s first sync has not finished. An administrator can check under Intune tenants.

Why is a customer red for compliance when it has few compliance issues?#

Devices with an Unknown Compliance status count against COMPLIANCE (%). Click the device count for that customer and add the Compliance Status filter set to Unknown to see them.

Why did Eido go back to All Customers?#

The selection lasts until you reload the page or sign in again. Choose the customer again from the filter.

Why can I not see Intune Tenants in Admin?#

A customer is selected. Tenants, integrations and a few other tiles are managed from All Customers only.

We chose Internal IT Team at the start and now need customers.#

Contact support. The choice cannot be changed from inside Eido.

Which region is your Eido account in?

Each region has its own sign-in, so this page opens in the region you choose.

Not sure? The Login to Eido button in your welcome email opens the right one. See finding your region.

Does your organisation have its own Eido address, such as yourcompany.eido.io? Use the help there instead, at yourcompany.eido.io/help.
