2024 releases

The year Eido grew up, month by month. Policy backup and restore, App Metering, patch compliance for every platform, Trends, sign-in with Microsoft, certificate alerts and the first roles.

2024 was the year Eido went from a dashboard for Intune to the place you run your Intune estate from. Thirty-four releases went out, and by December Eido could back up and restore your policies, tell you which software was really being used, grade the patching of every device you own, and show you how all of it had moved over time.

This page gathers the year by month. Behind the scenes, two things started in 2024 that you would not see until later: the first lines of QueryHub were written in April, and in December work began on the new platform that Eido runs on today.

November and December 2024#

  • Roles reach customers and devices. Roles can limit a person to chosen customers and to the devices that belong to them, so a managed service provider can give each technician exactly the estate they look after.
  • Bring your own app registration. Link an Intune tenant through an app registration that you create and control, with the permissions you decide to give it.
  • A faster, more modern front end throughout.

October 2024#

  • Roles arrive, in beta. The first step towards giving your wider team access to Eido without giving them access to everything.
  • App Metering sharpens up. Each application shows when it was last seen, and applications that are no longer on any device drop off the list by themselves.

September 2024#

  • Certificate alerts. Eido now watches your Apple push certificates and tokens and warns you before they expire. An expired certificate stops every Apple device in your estate from checking in, and nobody notices until it has happened. Now somebody is told first.
  • Managed apps, rebuilt. App install results now come from Intune’s own reports, which makes them far more accurate on a large tenant and much quicker to load.
  • A fairer compliance score. A policy that does not apply to a device no longer counts against it.
  • Dashboards and the Windows update reports open noticeably faster.

July and August 2024#

  • A free trial for everybody. Sign up, connect your tenant and see your own estate in Eido before you spend anything.
  • Built for bigger estates. Eido now reads only what has changed since the last sync, and sends less data to your browser. Large tenants sync faster and every screen feels lighter.
  • The application report is ready to use, with every assigned app and how its installs are going.
  • A device that drops out of Intune for a moment is no longer removed from Eido straight away.

June 2024#

A big month.

  • Trends. For the first time Eido remembers. See how the health of your estate has moved, day by day, and whether a problem is new, growing or already clearing.
  • OS Patch Status and OS Health. A proper patch status for every device, with alerts when one falls behind.
  • Sign in with Microsoft. Use your work account to sign in to Eido, with your own multi-factor and Conditional Access rules applied.
  • A new Policy Management area, with bulk actions: select many policies and act on them at once.

May 2024#

  • Policy templates, overhauled. Templates were rebuilt from the ground up, with a new grid and bulk actions, ready for the Policy Management area that followed in June.

April 2024#

  • Patch status for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. Patch compliance now covers every platform you manage, not only Windows.
  • Two-factor authentication when signing in to Eido.
  • Sync on demand. Force a tenant to sync again when you do not want to wait for the next one.
  • Read-write access. Choose, tenant by tenant, whether Eido can only read from Intune or can also restore policies to it.
  • Alerts sent by webhook carry the tenant’s name, so the system at the other end knows where they came from.
  • Syncing became more reliable, and the whole service more secure and better monitored.

March 2024#

Three headline features in one month.

  • App Metering. See which applications are really used across your estate, alongside every application Eido discovers on your devices. This is where the licence savings start.
  • Patch Management. A dashboard and reports for Windows updates: which devices are up to date, which are behind, and by how much.
  • Policy backups, automated. Every policy is backed up by itself, backups are on by default, and any policy type can be restored.
  • Compliance templates. A starting set of policies built on good practice.
  • Paging on every list, faster filters, and device details that open over the page you are on.
  • Managed service providers can drill down from the dashboard into a customer.

January and February 2024#

  • Policy backup and restore begins. Eido keeps a copy of your Intune policies, shows you exactly what changed between two versions, and puts a policy back with one button.
  • ServiceNow. An alert can raise an incident in ServiceNow, and Eido adds a note to the ticket when the problem clears.
  • People, not only devices. Eido syncs your users from Entra, with new dashboard widgets and reports built around them.
  • Discovered apps. The applications found on each device are now in Eido.
  • A more responsive dashboard that keeps up with larger estates.

Which region is your Eido account in?

Each region has its own sign-in, so this page opens in the region you choose.

Not sure? The Login to Eido button in your welcome email opens the right one. See finding your region.
